Colonial Motel

The people here were very kind and understanding, the people here at the Motel were quite accommodating, the wifi here works very well! I was able to watch YouTube and other shows online with zero lag, and the rooms were completely clean and tidy, the beds very comfortable to sleep in as well as the heating was very useful during the first cold snowy nights of the year, no complaints at all, e̶v̶e̶n̶ t̶h̶e̶ n̶e̶i̶g̶h̶b̶o̶r̶s̶ w̶e̶r̶e̶ r̶e̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ g̶r̶e̶a̶t̶ t̶o̶ u̶s̶ t̶o̶o̶!̶ Edit: theres a dude here who was acting like a friend and turned on me, started yelling at me and the owner, and caused a scene at tim hortons, if you're here, best to avoid the dude by the black truck, extremely confrontational and threatening behavior. PS they sell some bags of chips and pop at the office **change only**

What a fantastic spot, the room was spotless clean, the beds very comfortable and the staff very friendly and pleasant. Highly recommend and the price was the cheapest in town!

This was a very old motel. The rooms are clean and tidy. The rates are great and thenowners were friendly. It's an inexpensive place to stay when in Chatham

I had a very good experience with this motel both on the phone and in person. My ratings are based on what I was expecting and not comparing it to a modern hotel. It was decent for a roadside motel. The room was clean but rough around the edges. I had a good sleep on the bed and it had the best water pressure for the shower that I've ever experienced at a hotel/motel.

Beautiful motel. Loved the retro (bathroom) feel but also very updated in our room. Staff is nice . Grassy areas in front to run around. Plenty of sitting areas outside. Wifi was good! Definitely will stay again!

We were stranded by the highway—six adults, two kids, and two dogs—desperately calling around for availability. The owners went above and beyond: after hearing our situation, they personally drove to pick us up, saving the day for our large group. The motel itself is spotless, very clean, and perfectly located in the heart of Chatham, making it super convenient. But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible hospitality. The owners were amazingly kind, ensuring we had beverages and food to keep us comfortable. They even surprised us with an upfront discount, a generous gesture when others might have taken advantage of our predicament. They welcomed our dogs too, which meant the world to us. This experience reinforced our belief in the kindness of Canadians and the rare, genuine good that still exists in people. The owners of Colonial Motel are a shining example of that. If you’re in Chatham, stay here—you won’t find better service or a warmer welcome. Thank you, Colonial Motel, for turning a stressful situation into a heartwarming memory!

Owners, the family and the housekeeper all are fantastic at this motel. Rooms are kept clean, it is nice and quiet for the most part and if there is any issues the owners deal with it right away and effectively. I highly recommend this motel to all travellers or people in transition to their new home.
